White Ribbon Day Fundraising Appeal
Support Our Fundraiser for White Ribbon and Stand Against Gender Based Violence
At Gulab Sorkh Foundation, we are proud to be a White Ribbon supporter organisation, united in the mission to end violence against women and children. Gender based violence devastates lives and families, and addressing it is of utmost importance to Gulab Sorkh Foundation.
White Ribbon Day, observed annually on 25th November, is part of an international campaign to end male violence against women. It encourages men to take a stand against gender-based violence, wear a white ribbon as a symbol of their commitment, and pledge to never commit, condone, or stay silent about violence against women. The White Ribbon campaign, which originated in Canada in 1991, has since become a global movement for change, involving individuals, communities, and organisations.
White Ribbon Day promotes positive masculinity and seeks to engage men and boys in conversations about respect, consent, and equality. It encourages all men to play an active role in preventing violence against women and creating a safer society for everyone.
Letting sexism slide puts women and girls at risk. Sexist jokes, catcalling, staring, and comments might seem harmless, but they are serious because they can lead to violence and abuse. This White Ribbon Day 2025, we want more men to use their voices and speak up to create a world where everyone is safe, equal and respected. Every time we ignore something that does not feel right, we miss a chance to set a better example. To find out more, click here.
It is important to note that any violence against another person is against the law in the UK and physically punishing children is illegal in England and Wales. These legal protections underline why speaking up and taking action matters as everyone has a role to play in keeping our communities safe.
For the next two months, we are running a special online fundraising campaign in support of White Ribbon. Your donation will help fund vital programmes that raise awareness, promote education, and advocate for change. Together, we can break the cycle of violence, support survivors, and build a future where every home is safe.
Join us in taking a stand against violence against women and girls. Every contribution makes a difference. Help us create a safer, more compassionate world.
